An Acumatica consultant
who only does Acumatica.
Acumaven is an independent Acumatica consulting practice. We implement, integrate, support, and rescue Acumatica — one ERP, mastered completely, rather than a dozen products sold shallowly. Every engagement is delivered by the senior consultant who scoped it. No handoff to a junior bench.
When to bring one in
The four reasons companies call us.
You're implementing Acumatica for the first time
You've chosen the platform and need someone who will design it around how you actually operate — not around the demo. Implementation services →
A project is stalled or already failed
The go-live date keeps moving, the previous consultant is gone, or you went live and it didn't hold. Rescues are a core part of what we do. ERP rescue →
Acumatica needs to talk to your other systems
CRM, ecommerce, WMS, shipping, payroll. We're a Celigo Certified Partner and build REST API and OData integrations directly. Celigo integration →
You're a reselling partner who needs capacity
VARs bring us in for specialist Celigo work, overflow delivery, and rescues on their own client projects — under their brand or ours. For resellers →
Getting the model right
Consultant, VAR, or in-house?
Independent consultant
Delivers the services. No license quota, so the recommendation isn't shaped by what needs to be sold. Best when you need module depth, industry-specific design, integration work, or a project brought back from the brink.
That's us
VAR / reseller
Sells the license and is your partner of record with Acumatica. Many also deliver services. Keep them for licensing; evaluate their delivery bench separately — those are two different questions.
In-house team
Knows your business better than any outsider. Usually the right owner of day-to-day administration after go-live — and usually not the right sole owner of initial design, migration, and integration.
The distinction trips up most buyers. We wrote it up in detail: Acumatica Consultant vs. VAR — and which one you need. If you're actively evaluating firms, start with the questions to ask before you hire one.
Credentials
Certified in the modules we configure.
Certifications aren't the whole story, but they're the baseline — and the specific ones matter more than the count. These are ours, backed by 25+ years of enterprise software delivery.
We're also a Celigo Certified Partner, which is what lets us own both sides of an integration: the Acumatica configuration and the iPaaS flows that feed it.
By industry
Acumatica consulting for how you actually operate.
Acumatica for a construction firm and Acumatica for a distributor are different systems in practice. These are the four we go deep on.
Construction
Job costing, AIA progress billing, compliance, subcontracts, retainage.
Distribution
WMS, order fulfillment, demand planning, ecommerce and shipping integration.
Manufacturing
Production orders, BOM and routing, MRP, shop floor control.
Field Service
Dispatch, service contracts, mobile workforce, service billing.
How we work
What senior-led actually means.
01
The person who scopes it delivers it
No pattern where senior talent wins the work and a junior team executes it. You don't re-explain your business every month.
02
Straight answers, including inconvenient ones
If your current partner should finish the project, we'll say so. If a customization you want is a mistake, we'll tell you before you pay for it.
03
We stay through stabilization
Go-live is where the real work starts. The first 90 days decide whether your team trusts the system or works around it.
Acumatica consulting FAQ
What does an Acumatica consultant actually do?
An Acumatica consultant translates how your business runs into how the system is configured — and owns the gap between them. In practice that means requirements analysis, solution design, module configuration, data migration, integration to your other systems, user training, and go-live support. A good one also tells you when a customization is a bad idea and the process should change instead.
What's the difference between an Acumatica consultant and an Acumatica VAR?
A VAR (value-added reseller) is Acumatica's licensing channel — they sell you the software and are your partner of record. An independent consultant delivers the services. Many VARs do both, but the two relationships are separate and can be held by different firms. If your VAR's delivery bench is booked or lacks depth in your industry, you can bring in a specialist consultant without changing your license relationship.
Can you work with our existing Acumatica partner?
Yes, and we do it regularly. Your licensing stays with your VAR as partner of record while we handle the specialist delivery work — implementation, integration, or a rescue. We also work directly for reselling partners as subcontracted capacity on their client projects. There's no license conflict either way.
What certifications should an Acumatica consultant have?
Ask for the specific certifications for the modules you're implementing, not a headline count. A distribution project needs Inventory & Order Management; a construction project needs Construction Business Consultant and Project Accounting; anything with integrations needs REST API or OData Integration Developer. A certified generalist who has never configured your modules is not the same as a specialist in them.
Do we need a consultant if we already have in-house Acumatica knowledge?
Often the right answer is a hybrid. In-house staff know your business better than any outsider will; a consultant brings pattern recognition from many implementations and the module depth that is hard to justify hiring for full-time. The common split is a consultant for design, integration, and go-live, with your team owning day-to-day administration afterward.
How do you scope an Acumatica project?
Scope comes from the work, not from a date someone picked. We start with how your business actually operates — order to cash, procure to pay, job costing, service dispatch, whatever drives your revenue — then map that to Acumatica modules and identify the true gaps. The go-live date is an output of that analysis, not an input to it.
